About Elizabeth

I have a BS in Biology and have been trained as a molecular biologist in the wetlab for Monsanto, cloning plant genes, generating plant genome libraries, and sequencing various genomes. I tutored and mentored various team members who were new to the Human Genome Project while working in the lab at Washington University Genome Center. I am an experienced teaching coach with specific proficiency in the Biological Sciences, Public Speaking, and English (ESL/TOSEL).

If your child needs an extra hand in the sciences or struggles with English as a second language, I have a creative approach to making learning more fun through an experiential (and visual) approach. If you are an adult who needs a non-traditional learning environment, I will tailor a program to your specific needs.

I have a multi-disciplinary approach to learning that relies on the experiential approach with a specific use of visual cues to enhance memory-associated task learning.

My specific style works with both young students and non-traditional students (adults). I specialize in ESL/TOSEL candidates and can assist college students with entering the work force with a successful track record for opening doors for career transitions and new employment.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
