Hi potential student and parent!
First, I will tell you a little about my professional experience. I am a certified teacher, grades 7-12 and a certified administrator. I taught Spanish for 11 years at the high school level until I went on hiatus to care for my 3 young children. I have taught everything from freshman level through senior level, including honors courses. I have also tutored in lower Fairfield County and Westchester for over 10 years for students from various high schools (Wilton, New Canaan, Staples, Fairfield Prep, Greens Farms Academy, Riverdale to name a few). I do mostly remedial work with struggling students. I also work with students who have learning disabilities such as executive functioning and processing disorders. Many of the kids that I have worked with have a 504 plan or an IEP in place and they have enjoyed success after working with me. I also have experience with tutoring college students that need to fulfill their language requirement to graduate.
Now, a little about me personally. I am the mother of a 4 year old girl, 2 year old boy and newborn girl. I love all sports and play softball and volleyball. I love to travel and have been to many countries in Central and South America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East (see my pictures!). In my spare time, I also work locally as an EMT and have done so since I was an undergraduate in college. Hi potential student and parent!

Kristin does a great job reviewing the areas where my son is having trouble and also excels at presenting new material. She really connects with a kid who is not that interested in the language.
Accommodating and works around our scheduling issues. Kristin is great with my teenager and she responds well to Kristin's direct style.
Kristin is very easy to get along with and is pleasant and friendly and encouraging. She is able to get done what we need done as far as the pace of tutoring progress is concerned.
Kristin has been very patient and accommodating with my son who is not the most amenable to receiving help! She has a lot of experience working with boys and her relaxed but firm disposition has helped him to feel comfortable and motivated to do well.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
