Currently I teach Introduction to Computer Science at Brockport campus. It is a Java based program. I also have taught C++ at the Community College level in California as well as Introduction to Java Programming, both at the community college level and the university level. I was a Sun Certified Java and Solaris instructor for California State University, San Bernardino. I have more than 15 years of industry experience in programming.
Computer Science is a tough topic in general. Trying to learn a programming language like Java and C/C++ can also be difficult. I will set clear goals for understanding programming constructs, programming standards and algorithms. In the end if there is a project due date and it must get done, the student is going to have to do some work, but I will contribute to his/her success story by coaching and helping to debug. I will also challenge them to grow. As a part time instructor, I am uniquely skilled to assist a student in achieving their goals.
