I have earned both undergraduate (BA) & Master's Degrees (MA) in Philosophy from the University Of Tennessee.

My Master's Thesis concerned Sartre's observation of self-division in modern man as outlined in his Being and Nothingness. (I used examples from both philosophy and literature to back up this claim.)

Areas of Specialization include the following: Twentieth Century Philosophy, The Existential movement (Sartre, Nietzsche, etc.), Philosophy of Literature (broadly conceived as including movies, plays, music, and modern novels).

Areas of Competence include the following: Ancient Philosophy (Plato & some of the Pre-Socratics), Phenomenology (Husserl, etc), Early Modern Philosophy (Descartes, Hume, Locke, Kant, etc. up to The Enlightenment).

I have noticed that most students who need help really need it with classes which cover introductory material. That generally involved some Ancient Philosophy (Socrates, Aristotle) & Modern Philosophy - focusing on Descartes, Locke and Hume. I can help with many intro classes which include Twentieth Century Philosophy, i.e, Sartre, Camus, Nietzsche, Husserl.

I also help students write paperwork, that is, bring out their ideas and make them concrete - ready for the completed version.

While philosophy is my main focus, I can help folks who are beginning in chess and would like help with openings, and things of that sort.
