Hello! I'm a current PhD student in philosophy at Yale with a passion for teaching. I have years of experience tutoring at the high school and college levels, and have taught martial arts to all age groups for nearly a decade. I'm particularly excited to help students with their writing skills, but am ready to help you in whatever way you need to succeed!

I have a B.A. and an M.A. in philosophy, and am currently working on my PhD in the subject. I've taken a wide range of history and survey courses, so I should be able to help philosophy students at any level of education. As my choice to spend the 5-6 years getting PhD should indicate, I absolutely LOVE this subject and would be more than happy to help you find your way in it.

I've always had a fondness and an aptitude for reading and writing. In grade school, I was very successful in standardized testing, including getting perfect score in SAT reading and a near perfect in SAT writing, as well as a 5 on the English Language AP exam. I'm happy to help students develop this particular skill set!

After high school, I continued to work on my writing skills. I won several writing awards in college, and even published an article before I graduated. I also spent three years in college as a writing tutor. Now that I'm in grad school at Yale, I've continued as a trained writing tutor -- I can help with essay composition and revision at any level!

I have a B.A. in Classics and won several awards in the field while in College. I'm particularly equipped to tutor students in Greek Homeric literature (the Iliad and Odyssey), Greek history, Greek religion, and Ancient mythology. I have a deep love for the ancient world that I'd love to share with you!

I am a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu who has been training in and teaching the art for nearly a decade. I teach using an approach that focuses on large concepts and principles, rather than focusing on specific techniques. I've found that this helps students develop a competency and appreciation for the art faster than they otherwise might. I'm happy to work with students on developing some skills in BJJ, whether their focus is on fitness, self-defense, or merely picking up a fun hobby.

As a student, my schedule is very flexible to meet your needs. I'm a patient, careful tutor who loves to learn and help others learn, and I have experience working with students of all age groups.

Classics

My interest in the Classical World began in high school, where I took four years of Latin. I then went on to major in Classics as an undergraduate. My engagement with Classics also goes beyond the classroom: I've attended several NJCL conventions (placing 2nd at Nationals in Latin Oratory), conducted original research into modern receptions of Homer, and have published two articles in the Cambridge Guide to Homer. I'm particularly well-equipped and excited to help students in their studies of the literature, culture, religion, and history of the ancient Greco-Roman world.

Logic

I have taken two classes in logic at the college level, passing with high marks in each of them. As a practicing philosophy student, I use logic almost everyday. I am qualified and happy to help students with everything from elementary informal logic (logical flow, argument structure, etc.) to first-order symbolic propositional and predicate logic, to intermediate meta-logic (completeness, compactness, Godel's incompleteness theorems, etc.).

I have been training, competing in, and teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for nearly a decade. I'm highly proficient in both the technical and conceptual aspects of Jiu-Jitsu, and am skilled at communicating these concepts to students. I'm passionate about this art, and am well-equipped to help students interested in Jiu-Jitsu in a variety of ways, whether their focus is on self-defense, sport Jiu-Jitsu, fitness, increasing self-confidence, or just enjoying a fun hobby!
