I graduated from Brown University in May of 2016, worked at Brigham and Women's hospital for two years doing clinical research, and now am a medical student at Yale University School of Medicine. I double concentrated in Chemistry and Economics while at Brown, and am currently in the midst of intense medical school coursework. I was a peer tutor throughout my Brown career. I loved tutoring students in general chemistry and helping them understand foundation concepts like Gibb's free energy and enzyme kinetics.

I took the MCAT in January of 2017 and scored in the 100th percentile and have tutored friends and peers since then in MCAT studying. I have a strong background in all of the premedical coursework from my time at Brown and a deeper understanding of many of these concepts from my coursework so far at Yale School of Medicine. I think often people focus too much on content review for the MCAT and don't spend enough time working through passages. I'm eager to help others on the MCAT, looking to improve scores through focus on "high-yield" content/concepts and on letting the passage "help you" answer questions.

I studied for the MCAT while working full time- and I understand what it feels like to have an overwhelming amount to study and a very limited time. I've also seen friends and co-workers go through the MCAT "process" recently, and have learned a lot from them about various different ways to be successful (or not successful) preparing for the MCAT.

I'm excited to help students of all levels improve in chemistry and economics. I'm also hoping to help future medical school students meet their goals on the MCAT -- without needing to spend six months studying full time for it.

Macroeconomics

Macroeconomics

I majored in economics at Brown University, focusing on macroeconomics and economic growth within my major. I conducted independent research in economics and completed a senior seminar thesis course. I think in macroeconomics, concepts really click with students when they are explained properly. I like to think of multiple creative ways to explain topics so that they "click" with whatever type of student I am working with.

MCAT

I majored in chemistry at Brown and completed all of the pre-medical coursework, including two semesters of physics, biochemistry, two semesters organic chemistry, introductory psychology and neuroscience, multi-variable calculus, and multiple statistics courses. I have tutored multiple acquaintances for MCAT prep. I scored a 525 when I took the test this January (131, 131, 131, 132 -- 100th percentile overall). I studied on my own for the test, and I learned a lot about preparing for the test without spending excessive amounts of time studying. I focus on passage-based studying and learning.
