Tufts University (Psychology)
I graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University with a B.A. in psychology in 2015. During college, I worked as an in-school tutor for two years, teaching students in grades 2-8 all subjects, with an emphasis on math and English. I also kept up my own set of elementary and middle-school tutoring clients. Additionally, I worked for two years as a teaching assistant in the Tufts Art department. I recently moved to New Haven to live with my fiance, who is a student at Yale Law School.
Teaching has always been a passion of mine. As a high schooler, I started a theater-based summer camp for kids ages 5-11. Tutoring elementary and middle-school students was the most rewarding part of my college experience, and I am excited to build my own business here in the New Haven area. I am an easygoing person who will strive to make every lesson as fun as it is educational.
I have over two years of experience tutoring elementary and middle-school students in math, both as an in-school public school tutor and as part of my own private business.
I also have two years' experience tutoring elementary and middle-school students in English. I have found that every student can learn to be a great writer, with the correct emphasis on clarity and argumentation.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
