Hajimemashite! I am a native speaker of Japanese and about the same level of English. I possess over 5 years of experience as a language tutor and teacher catering to students, travelers and corporate clients. I conduct both one-on-one and group tutoring lessons. My goal is simple, to do everything I can to share my knowledge of the Japanese culture to give more contexts to the language by creating individualize lesson plans around the needs, strengths, and interests of each student.
I’m a Japanese patent information search specialist by day, but I have been teaching Japanese and Math at Japanese weekend school for bi-lingual students in CT on every Saturday morning for the past 4 years. I have been thought from the 3rd grade to 8th grade.
I really appreciate every tutoring opportunity and please let me know what you need.

Hiro was very patient and actually made me laugh quite a bit. He made the first meeting a comfortable and positive environment to begin our first lesson. He was very patient with me, even after I had to repeat the same sentence 3 times because I kept messing up my own name ^^* I would recommend to anyone, when you speak to him you will know he is a genuine man with a heart for teaching not only his language but his culture. It is a passion to be admired, I'm looking forward to our future meetings!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
