About Grant

My name is Grant, and I graduated from Harvard College in 2014. Most recently, I was a management consultant at Bain & Company in New York city, and am currently planning on going to Harvard Business School as a part of the 2+2 program.

I love tutoring, as it is quite exciting to watch students grow and reach their potential, and to be a part of that. And, I think my experiences in going to Harvard and working in consulting have given me valuable experiences that I would love to share with others.

The job I currently have is highly analytical, and often draws on the same fundamental math that is tested on the ACT. Aside from performing strongly on the test, my current vocation has kept me sharp in this subject, and prepares me to assist others.

When I took the ACT, reading was naturally my strongest subject (34 on first run through), something that has only gotten stronger over time having weathered the liberal arts curriculum at Harvard. I feel especially prepared to teach the tricks of the trade for this test.

Having gained admissions to Harvard undergrad and Harvard business school, I am extremely familiar with what works and does not work in the admissions process. Hence, I am more than able to guide applicants going through the admissions process on how to tailor their applications for success.

Having worked at an elite management consulting firm, I am quite familiar with the inner workings of MS Excel, arguably the most central piece of software in the consulting toolkit. Hence, I am more than equipped to teach others crucial formulas and shortcuts necessary to navigate the program.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
