Priscilla has performed extensively throughout the United States with a number of opera companies, and chorale and orchestral organizations, performing such works as Verdi's Requiem, Dvorak's Stabat Mater, Rossini's Stabat Mater, Dvorak's Te Deum, Handel's Messiah, Mahler's Symphony No. 4, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Orff's Carmina Burana, Debussy's L'Enfant Prodique, Barber's Knoxville Summer of 1915, Berlioz Les Nuit d'Ete, Webber Requiem, Poulenc's Gloria, and Villa lobos' Bachianas Brasilieras No. 5. Her operatice roles include Violetta from La Traviata, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Micaela in Car, Leonora in Trovatore, Liu from Turandot and Mimi in LaBoheme.
She is currently a member of the voice faculty at Wesleyan University (21 years), as well as adjunct faculty at Middlesex Community College in Ct., where she teaches Music History and Appreciation (10 years), and the Pomfret School in Pomfret, Ct.
Having had a 30 year successful career as an opera singer, as well as a voice teacher, I have real life experience and training, offering insight and guidance to what works and what doesn't. I believe that breath is the most important part of singing. As a pianist, I offer standard repertoire, fundamental music theory as well as development of the hand. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I began studying piano at the age of 5, and continued through my young adult life even at conservatory. I have a "minor" in piano from the Cleveland Institute of Music. I have been teaching piano for 27 years. Several of my students have gone on to go to conservatory and pursue careers in music
I am a graduate of the Julliard School of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music as a voice major in performance. I studied in Rome with Luigi Ricci followed by a brief study period at the American Institute for Opera in Graz, Austria. I had a substantial 30 year performance career in both Europe and the United States. Currently I am on the voice faculty at Wesleyan University, The Pomfret School in addition to teaching Music History at Middlesex Community College (CT).
