Hello, I am a recent college graduate with Bachelor degrees in English (concentration in creative writing) and History (double concentration in U.S History and Afro-Diaspora History) from Howard University in Washington, D.C. I have taught summer school courses in secondary English and have experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and relationship building with students. I will be entering a teacher residency program in Fall of 2020. In the meantime, I hope you can trust I am the right fit for your student.

I have a well rounded background in the study of English and the Language Arts. In high school I took AP classes in English language and English Literature with elective courses in creative writing. In undergrad I have studied British Literature, American Literature, African-American Literature, Semantics & Syntax, and the Principles of Editing. I concentrated in Creative Writing as well and have taken courses in Film, Poetry, and Ficiton. I also have experience in portfolio building. Earlier this summer I taught 7th grade reading during summer school sessions in Houston, Texas in preparation for my residency program in secondary English education.

In high school I completed AP classes in World History, US History, and US Government with scores of 3+. During my time in undergrad I was an active member of Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society for recognition of my dedication to the study of history and intensive research in relative coursework. I maintained a 3.75 GPA in the History department and have taken courses such as US History to 1877, Colloquium in US History 19th century, and Seminar in US history 20th century. I have also taken classes in African-America History, the history of Blacks in Latin America, and I have done analytical research on famous speeches and publications throughout the US and Caribbean in the 18th and 19th century.
