About Kyle

I am a 2014 graduate of Bryant University with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Computer Information Systems. I also hold minors in Economics and Finance, and graduated the university's Honors Program with a journal-published honors capstone project related to modern disruptive technology.

I genuinely enjoy helping others as a core personal value (including in my full-time job today as an insurance technology professional). I have found that for years my strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and clear communication have been valued by numerous friends and school colleagues who value my logic-based, realistic approach to learning. I fully believe a holistic learning solution tailored to an individual's unique learning style is necessary for academic and real-world success. Most notably, I have helped to clarify many academic concepts related to my major in the business technology field.

In CIS-related group projects and in business core classes, I helped several friends over multiple years to demonstrably improve their Excel knowledge in time for associated exams. I received our top department award in CIS for my class year at graduation. Today, I am a Business/Data Analyst at a large insurance corporation--a position where I am heavily reliant on my computer and analytical skills to perform my day job.

I most great enjoy delighting a student to the point of bewildered joyful expression at achieving meaningful understanding & building ability and confidence in tackling their own unique path forward. I also have special interests in Finance--particularly the theory of markets and personal finance--as well as vocal music and performing arts with 10+ years of skillful singing and volunteer work in both choruses and a cappella groups as part of both formal and informal music programs.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Microsoft Outlook

I was a business major in college and for years even before that I used Google Calendar to schedule my personal life. I have over four years of work experience as an intern and full-time employee now at a large insurance corporation where--according to my co-workers and managers--I work at well above average efficiency and effectiveness in our extremely fast-paced technology/IT environment which relies heavily on MS Outlook.

I have a personal passion for and very actively practice what I preach in terms of productivity tools and techniques which enable personal success. To complement my knowledge more broadly, I have completed significant reading on productivity and communications schools of thought, including books such as Quiet, Extreme Productivity, and The 4-Hour Workweek. I am thrilled to possibly tutor students who may need help corralling thousands of e-mails, scheduling more efficiently in their Outlook calendar toward time and desk management, managing their to-dos in high capacity jobs, and more. I find sitting side-by-side in a targeted approach to learning Outlook can very quickly add a significant amount of utility for the learner in terms of stress reduction and empowerment, and I would love to expand my passionate ad hoc assistance with Outlook from my work colleagues to the broader community.
