In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Currently, I am master tutor of English and Spanish at ACC.
I taught Developmental English (reading and writing skills) at the community college level for nearly 10 years. Many of my students were non-native speakers. I also taught Adult Basic Education and GED preparation courses, focusing on improving English language skills for people recently migrated to the U.S. Currently I work as Master Tutor of English at Asnuntuck Community College.
I hold a master's degree in music performance. I have taught private music lessons for nearly 20 years to students of all ages. I have taught music appreciation, music history, and music theory and performance at a CT community college since 2001.
Guitar Teacher Available:
I hold a master's degree in guitar performance, and currently teach as an adjunct instructor of music in community colleges and community music schools. I have concertized internationally and in the U.S.
I perform professionally: classical, jazz and contemporary guitar styles.
Methods: We will learn fundamentals of good left and right technique and standard music notation. Incorporating beautiful yet simple pieces from classical, jazz and popular repertoire which develops the student's understanding and appreciation for the guitar.
Students who already have some or much experience may choose to study with me to acquire a higher level of performance capability, improve technique, learn to read music notation or to better understand the chords/harmonization in music.
No guitar tablature will be used or encouraged, since this method is counter-productive toward becoming a trained, literate and quality musician.
Completed academic Spanish language programs in Cuernavaca, Tlaqupaque and Guanajuato Mexico - also in Quito, Ecuador.
Taught Spanish 101 at Lincoln College for two years, and am currently Master Tutor of Spanish at Asnuntuck Community College.
