About Richard

Greetings: this is a common intro word in law, at least in very old law. In any case, I am a law professor with 35 years experience teaching as a tenured law professor, 30 years preparing students for the LSAT and over 25 years preparing students for the bar exams of 35 different states.

I love teaching, as you might guess, both one on one and in small classes. I believe in giving students lots of feedback and lots of repetition of similar problems to allow them to really master tasks. For this I create many of my own materials. My students have actually come to me in CT from many states including Alaska, California, Florida as well as CT, NY and other nearby states.

I will do individual work or have students join small groups preparing for LSAT and Bar Exams. I would also be interested in working with any law student who needs help with preparing for class or for exams. I actually established one of the first Academic Support programs in a law school and ran it for many years.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bar Exam

I created and still run a bar prep class that gives third year students a head start on the bar. This class has been offered at QU Law School since 1994 and even before that I tutored individuals who had failed the Bar. I have a license to use all released MBE questions from the NCBEX. My students had the highest pass rate of any law school on CT bar in a number of recent years.

Thanks.

I am sure that I will contact you back once I get into law school to inquire about those prep sessions. I appreciated your help.
