The process that I use to help students maximize their potential involves customizing a program to the specific needs of each person. Many of the large tutoring businesses teach identical systems to everyone. Although there are certainly processes where following a specific procedure is helpful, in the bigger picture, I have found much greater success with adjusting the study program to fit the needs of the student.

We can meet at your home or at libraries or coffee shops - again this usually depends upon where the student finds they perform best. Hours are flexible.

Growing up as a sports fan, I always gravitated to statistics. In school and professionally, I have also had many roles where my propensity to dig into stats has been helpful. Usually, I can take the strange terms and turns them into normal language for those who are struggling. This lead to many "Ah-Ha!" moments.

Algebra 1

For most students, algebra is the first step into 'higher math'. There are a number of new concepts and thought processes that are needed to successfully take this step. The best process here is usually and steady and consistent review of the subject matter combined with many practice problems until a solid level of comfort is reached.
Calculus,

Calculus

Calculus is another big step in the progression of a math student. Sub-topics such as derivatives, differentiation, and maximization can be very intimidating if it feels like the instructor is moving through them too quickly. Often, the opportunity to work one on one within these concepts - and talk them over until there is a real understanding - makes a huge difference.

Standardized tests can be intimidating for many people. Compared to the SAT, the ACT has less Vocabulary and an added Science section. Take this into account when deciding on SAT, ACT, or both.

LSAT

The LSAT is a very challenging test. It is important to realize the the creators of this test realize that many smart students will be taking this test and their goal is to sort the relatively smart from the extraordinarily smart. Thus, the lengthy test with many difficult sections. My experience has been that the the logical reasoning and logic games sections are the areas where practice results in the most improvement (reading comprehension take longer to change). In the logic areas, especially the games, there are a number of techniques that if learned and applied correctly, will dramatically change your score.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Bob took our college student son from being lost in his computer class to understanding and able to complete his assignment with just one session! Bob really knows how to communicate well with his students. Thank you, Bob.

Very competent tutor and gives you some handy tips

Bob, taught me a lot. I had no previous experience of the GMAT but needed to learn quickly as I wanted to take the exam within two months. In short, I was a blank canvas and feel i have the foundations now to attack the GMAT and get the results i need. Bob is patient and is always happy to take time out and answer questions.

Great Experience

I met with Bob over the course of the summer to relearn just about every math topic needed for the GRE. Bob's explanations were frequently better than the study books', and his deep understanding of the topics meant he always had great illustrations behind each solution. He had great suggestions for different ways to approach problems that made them easier and less time consuming, which is essential for this timed test. He was always friendly and easy to talk to. After our sessions, I'm confident that my test-taking outcomes will be within range for the programs I want. All in all, a great experience, and I would absolutely recommend Bob for anyone else hoping to improve their quantitative GRE scores.

The Best!! An ASVAB wiz!!

I have to tell you that Bob was absolutely invaluable in my son's preparation for the ASVAB. Bob consistently focused on the skills necessary to do well. He obviously knew which skills to develop, because my son scored so high on the test that he will be able to pursue any career path he wishes in the Military. If you are an ambitious person, yet a reluctant test taker like my son, Bob B. is your tutor. He not only introduced and drilled the necessary skills for the ASVAB, but sent my son on his way with the confidence to do well. My husband and I are both school teachers and know the impact the right tutor can make. We have seen it first hand with Bob B. and are pleased to recommend him unreservedly!!
