Metropolitan State College of Denver,
My name is Azka. I graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver with Bachelors of Science in Biology and I minored in Chemistry. I am planning to pursue a Master's Degree in Microbiology. In the meantime, I went to a one year advance program in Medical Technology. I am a medical technologist and I have great experience and extensive knowledge in Microbiology. I was trained in six different areas and I am also very strong in Hematology. I worked in Mount Sinai hospital, which is by far one of the busiest hospitals in New York City. Microbiology was always my strong subject, and working in the field only lead to advancement in my learning and knowledge in this difficult subject. I have also efficient computer skills, and I am great in doing research and creating power point presentations.
I have strong interpersonal skill, great teaching methods and excellent studying techniques. I am also very good with kids and I am able make learning very easy and fun for them. I am able to relate to students in a very friendly manner and make sure that the student feels comfortable and understands the studying material. I tutored a college student in algebra, when I was also a college student, and was able to help him to get a very good grade. I offer great studying techniques, such as rewriting notes, making outlines and some very helpful memorization skills. With my background in science, my knowledge can be very beneficial in helping students with science projects. I believe every student has a different style of learning and it is only a matter of finding that particular style. I can help students to find their style, which will make them very successful. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Microbiology is a study of microorganisms, which is defined as any organism that can not be visualized with naked eye. They are seen at microscopic level. I was very interested in this subject during college, and I studied several different kinds of Microbiology, including, Microbial Ecology, Pathogenic Microbiology and Dynamics of Health, which was focused on Infectious Diseases. I was also trained in Microbiology laboratory during Medical Technology program, which included all different branches of Microbiology, like, parasitology, TB/mycology and virology. And, I have worked in a Microbiology Laboratory for two years, which was excellent hands on experience. I was trained in the Bacteriology, therefore, I am very familiar with the morphology and growth patterns of microorganisms. I also gained tremendous amount of knowledge in learning normal flora vs. pathogens.
