I enjoy meeting students from all over the world, and have been teaching ESL for over twenty years. Lessons are diverse with music, listening, conversation, and of course, the fundamentals. I'm currently working with students from Mexico and Peru and have worked with students from the Middle East and all over the world. I lived in Greece for three years, and have sympathy for people adjusting to a new culture. I'm looking forward to meeting you! I've worked in a classroom setting and also with students on a one to one basis from beginning to advanced levels. I have a Master's degree in Education, with additional certification in teaching non-English-speaking adults.

I've taught English to a mixed group of students at a private school. We didn't use traditional textbooks but used the primary materials. All of the students enjoyed this and went on to become professional people in a variety of fields. This was a very rewarding experience.

I'd be excited to work with all students
I taught handwriting to 4th grade STUDENTS. I'm certified for grades one through twelve.
I have been teaching English using a phonetic approach to learning English. Students enjoy this and many have enjoyed learning English with a minimum of previous speaking I've used the Laubach method of teaching English for the past ten years. This approach teaches speaking first with emphasis on vowels and combination of sounds. The teacher and student interact with each other. Frank Laubach began this method of teaching and this way of learning is part of pro literacy.
I've taught reading to students learning English as well as to regular students. I'm certified in the state of CT to teach students from l-12 grades and have a MS degree. I've also taught literature classes stressing American literature and American poets. I taught at the International Center in New Haven CtT to acquaint foreign students with American literature.
I've helped many students in expressing themselves in various ways. We've done this through reading and journal writings. Some students in special education also gained success. I use my skills in teaching ESL to encourage all types of students. I truly enjoy encouraging all students.
I'm currently working with immigrants and have noticed their improvement with additional vocabulary works. We practice every week, and I am very happy with their progress.
"Good writing is clear thinking made visible." Bill Wheeler, educator. I've worked with many students learning English, and they have written their personal reactions to being in a new country and how they've succeeded. We've also worked on writings describing their reactions to current events and happenings. Journal keeping is another way students have enjoyed expressing themselves.
