In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My business career spanned 30 years, during which I was responsible for hiring, training, account management, budget analysis and creation, creation and implementation of marketing plans, human resource issues, as well as day to day operations for a team of 12 to 125.
I completed a course in public speaking as part of my college training to teach. After graduation I taught high school for over 9 years, continually improving my speaking and presentation skills.
After transitioning my career into business I was trained in corporate programs focused on presentation and speaking skills to large and small groups. That training continued for several years and included speaking to groups as large as 500, and routinely speaking to audiences of 125 or more.
