About Dana

Thank you for reaching out - I hope we can find ways of working together. My main objective is to help college students and young adults build on their academic experience to excel as professionals in the financial industry.

I hold a B.S. in Business Administration, with concentration in Finance, from EAESP-FGV - the top business school in Latin America. I hold FINRA licenses Series 79 and Series 63 and I am currently working towards my CFA.

I have over ten years of experience working in private equity and investment banking in the U.S. and internationally. I have worked in a leading boutique merchant bank, as well as in a top global investment group. My clients include the leading companies in the consumer, retail & industrials sectors; private equity firms such as KKR, CVC and Catterton; as well as exciting, fast-growing ventures.

Throughout my career, I have mentored a number of young professionals moving up the ladder in the finance industry and in their moves towards corporate and entrepreneur opportunities. I have been responsible for the training and tutoring of over 30 interns, analysts and associates coming from schools such as Wharton, Yale, Harvard, Princeton and NYU. My years tutoring financial professionals from their summer internship through their promotions to vice presidents give me a broad perspective over the best moves one must make to succeed in investment banking, private equity and corporate development.

I have expertise in using Excel to develop financial models (from simple analysis to detailed operating models) including Discounted Cash Flow, Leverage Buyout, Accretion/Dilution, Dividend Discount Models, and templates for detailed Trading and Transaction Comps. I also use PowerPoint to create professional looking presentations used for investment pitches, information memorandums and general management meetings.

I thoroughly enjoy watching my students succeed in their career and business life. I am patient, thorough and - I've been told - pleasant.
Please send me a text and we will discuss the best way that I can help you.

Best,

Dana

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Project Management

During my career, I have led teams comprised of investment bankers, legal advisers, accountants and consultants through almost 50 projects, including M&A transactions, take-privates, IPOs/follow-ons, etc.

The coordination of these projects depended on a tight track of its timelines, understanding the expected deliverable from each team member at all times.
