I am a certified special education teacher, who currently works at the middle school level teaching math and reading classes. I have experience at the middle school and high school levels teaching reading, English, pre-algebra and algebra, and study skills.
I have earned my masters of education in special education, and have 7 years of teaching experience. Additionally, I have training and experience with a number of research based reading and math intervention programs. I also have experience teaching organization, study, and test prep skills.
My tutoring philosophy is similar to my teaching philosophy. I believe that all students and learners are unique, and lessons are best when individualized. Therefore, the lessons and work load will be tailored to best fit the needs of each student.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
