I am a certified teacher in grades K-6, and I have eight years of teaching and tutoring experience. My Master's Degree is in Literacy Education from Hunter College in New York City. I am passionate about teaching literacy to young children. I love teaching and watching children grow and achieve. I taught second grade for five years and first grade for two years. I also taught remedial reading to students in grades 1-6. As an experienced teacher, I am familiar with the Common Core Standards and the curriculum in Connecticut schools.
I will provide your child with individualized instruction that will allow him or her to achieve in school. I will also modify how I teach the material depending on your child's learning style. I can help with homework, and I can also create and teach my own lessons depending on your child's academic needs.
I am flexible with days and times for tutoring as well as location. I will work with your family in order to help your child succeed academically.
I would love the opportunity to work with your family and to help your child succeed. I look forward to hearing from you! Always smiling, Meredith has completely charmed my son who loves studying with her! She has an amazing way of connecting with child and make learning a fun moment!
Meredith is 5 stars all around. So happy that we found her. She is a perfect, patient, kind, organized and all-around wonderful tutor! I only wish we could see her more!
Meredith has been extremely helpful with my son. She is able to help him fill in some phonics gaps and give him strategies to assist him in his writing and spelling.
We had our first lesson from Meredith yesterday! She was able to assess my sons needs and weaknesses in Reading very quickly! My son truly enjoyed her and her guidance! I feel she is a great addition in one on one support for him and know his confidence with interest will progress nicely!
Thank you Meredith! : )
Meredith is wonderful and has helped my son tremendously. She is caring and takes time to go through tough topics with my son so he understands it. He really values her and thinks she is so nice. She is a great tutor and very patient.
She has such a positive energy! Since she is a teacher she knows exactly what my son needs to know and is able to help him in a way that he enjoys. We are glad to have found her!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am a certified teacher in grades K-6, and I have a master's degree in literacy education (birth-grade 6). I have experience teaching first and second grades as well as remedial reading, therefore I am very knowledgeable in teaching phonics. I have many resources and tools that I would be able to use in order to help children with phonics.
