Bay Path University (Biology)
I have tutored at my own college professionally for two years now in the fields of General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, General Biology and Cell & Molecular Biology. I am the head tutor for three of these fields (physics, organic chemistry and cell molec). I also TA (teaching assist) for organic chemistry and general biology.
I love it when a student first comes to me and does not believe that he or she is prepared for their upcoming exam or assignments whatsoever, but after our session they feel much more secure in their understanding of the concepts discussed and feel ready to tackle their exam/assignments. I also love hearing back from them afterwards when they get better grades than they could have hoped for; they are always so grateful and it gives me a sense of pride in my abilities to tutor well.
I have tutored for two, going on three years in my undergrad and am highly regarded by the faculty. They send students specifically to me a lot as opposed to our other tutors and display a high sense of trust in my abilities.
Feel free to contact me about tutoring in any of my subjects. My summer hours are very flexible and my fall hours will mostly be on weekends, since I am in the middle of my undergraduate thesis, but I can be somewhat flexible during the weekdays as well. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have had several anatomy classes in both high school and my undergraduate career ranging from human anatomy to up through comparative vertebrate anatomy. I have done various dissections and am very adept at both human and other vertebrate anatomy.
I am a biology major in my senior year of undergrad, who has taken many different biology courses ranging from freshman basic biology to cell and molecular biology, comparative vertebrate anatomy and many more. I TA (teach assist) for biology at my school and tutor the subject as well. I am a 4.0 student who has aced all of my biology courses.
Been both a general and organic chemistry tutor for 3+ years. Minored in chemistry and was the head organic tutor and TA.
I tutor organic chemistry at the undergraduate level, I am the head Orgo tutor for my university and I received an A in both Orgo I and II. I TA for both the lectures and labs at my school for Orgo. I can explain organic chemistry in a way that makes sense to most people and have many little tricks for remembering a lot of the more complex concepts that my tutees have difficulty with. I also use appropriate teaching tools when necessary; for example, I make a lot of charts to help my tutees with topics such as the two types of substitution and elimination reactions or for all of the different alkene and alkyne reactions (based on whether they show markovnikov or anti markovnikov orientation or add in syn or anti addition to the reactant molecule etc.).
