Oxbow Institute (English)
Simply put, I love teaching. This has been my passion for many years. At the age of fifteen I volunteered my time with my local Christian congregation teaching others bible study lessons. The early experience helped me to understand people's needs and abilities. It showed me how to engage people of different backgrounds with patience and encouragement. I later would acquire more experience as a volunteer for a non-profit organization at the Watchtower Educational Center in Patterson, NY This facility offered training on public speaking and teaching. There I worked with many different nationalities from countries such as Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Japan, Korea and became very interested in other cultures.
Recently I went get my TESOL teaching certification for English as a second language (ESL) as well as a public speaking certification from The Oxbow Institute which I was enrolled in for four years. The methodologies of the course were spectacular and yet so simple. If you want to not only learn English in a practical manner and enjoy it, then I'm your tutor! Please feel free to contact me and learn more.
At the Oxbow Language Institute-(2015) (160 hours) I was certified in whole brain, whole body methodologies and principles. In 2011-(25 hours) I received teaching/learning experience in ESL. In 2013-(35 hours) I participated in supervised classroom practicum in public speaking dissertations. In 2011-2015 I had 40 hours of Peer Mentoring 3 language students, and in 2011-2015 I had 40 hours of Research, prepare and deliver 80 presentations.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My qualifications include the following:
Four years training at an approved Oxbow Language institute school curriculum. (150 hours)
50 hours of peer tutoring sessions under the Oxbow Institute standards under the guidance of qualified teachers.
In November 2015 I was certified as an Oxbow English as a Second Language instructor and Public speaking Instructor.
Public Speaking is an art that I aspire to do well in. For that reason I enrolled in an officially recognized Oxbox language Institute School for Public speaking. This school gave me invaluable training on ways to alleviate nervousness, use proper annunciation, how to prepare a simple outline and use of gestures, all tools needed for a quality speaker as well as communicating with co-workers, employers and so forth in a variety of situations. Once I completed the required 150 hours for this course Oxbow officially certified me. (I have an official certificate that validates this and can be presented if requested.) While I am new to the work field, I have gained experience from the assigned 25 hours given to me to teach public speaking to others in peer mentoring sessions with other students learning public speaking as well and receiving proper feedback from instructors on how to better teach in a simple but effective manner by using illustrations, word picture summary and use of objects as a teaching aid. I also have done this in a foreign language setting as Spanish is my second language. I hope this helps in gaining a better insight to my abilities as an instructor. If needed i'd be happy to demonstrate my methods via Skype or video conference.
