My passion for teaching stems from my own love of learning. I want to inspire my students to be life-long learners, and to find the fun in learning. As a recent graduate of Mercy College’s Master’s program, I know that hard work and dedication to learning can pay off. I have had the pleasure of helping a wide range of elementary age students realize their own potential and see their grades improve.
I am certified in New York and Connecticut to teach students in Kindergarten through 6th grade and students with disabilities. During each tutoring session, my goal is to keep the student challenged, but not overwhelmed. I assign challenging homework after every lesson, and arrange for periodic assessments and progress reports in order to demonstrate improvement.
I am flexible with time, as I have a 24-hour cancellation policy and offer makeup classes. In order to ensure that students have a quiet and comfortable study space in which to work with me, I recommend meeting at a local library. However, I am happy to travel to another location or to your home if that is more convenient for the student.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies! My passion for teaching stems from my own love of learning. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
