Fairfield University (Master's)
I live in the beautiful Northwest Corner of CT. I spend all of my free time hiking with my two pups or gardening!
In 2012, I received my Bachelors degree in Justice and Law Administration from Western Connecticut State University. I never did much with my degree besides working as an intern in juvenile probation. I realized during my internship that probation was not the correct path for me because I wasn’t helping in a way that I thought was beneficial. During this time of confusion about what I wanted to do the rest of my life, I realized that my true passion was teaching.
I started working as a Special Education paraprofessional at a rural high school, and I immediately fell in love with education and realized I had made the right choice! I began searching for graduate schools to become certified to teach History since I had originally started college as a History major. After working in the Special Education department my perspective started to change and I started to really fall in love with teaching the special needs population. I am currently working towards my Master’s and certification at Fairfield University with an expected graduation date in 2018.
While working in the Special Education department and more recently the Title 1 support room I have helped many students understand academic concepts more by using different approaches to teaching and engaging with material. While most of my experience is working with high school students, I can also provide various means of help to younger children. I am able to tutor students in basic Math up to Algebra, as well as, History and English. I am skilled in using different learning strategies to help students think outside the box when it comes to their academics, these strategies can ultimately help encourage students to meet their full potential!
If my experience appeals to you please contact me and we can work together to provide the ultimate learning experience. I look forward to working with you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
