In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've used Adobe Flash Pro since 1990 and have taught the subject in higher education schools for 8 years. I use the application for online advertising, e-learning and general animation and use action scripting to ad interactivity to the SWF output and deployment to desk top, smart phones and tablets.
I currently teach Digital Publishing on the college level and use the Adobe Master Suite and focus in InDesign publishing for magazine, newspaper, book, business publishing. I teach Adobe InDesign’s full features such as Liquid Design layout, PDF interactive form layout and concentrate in the integration of print and online publishing for screen, phone and tablet.
In 1984 as a college student at Pratt Institute, School of Art and Design, I began using an Apple “Lisa”, which the department had purchased. It had MacPaint and MacWrite, “Paint” being a bitmap-pixel based image editing software, similar to the future Adobe Photoshop. Later around 1990 I started with “5.5” Adobe Photoshop and continued on through all the CS’s – starting with teaching my first course 2003’ in “CS (8.0)” and now “CS5.5” both on Mac and Windows. I’m also a photographer, starting in high school with a 35mm SLR Nikon Nikormat (film camera) and on to digital photography around year 2000’. My primary image editing software is Adobe Photoshop/Bridge/Lightroom. I also design web site page layouts in Adobe Photoshop, optimize images and graphics used with online media and “screen” presentation, in conjunction with other applications in Adobe Master Suite workflow. Currently I teach college level courses, Intro to Digital Design, Digital Imaging and Web Online Media and Digital Photography.
I am well versed in desktop publishing using the Adobe Master Suite. My emphasis is in print and online media combined for screen, phone and tablet. I use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop for graphic design and InDesign for design layout. Adobe ePub for ebook publishing, book and cover design. Areas of concentration are in magazine, newspaper, book and business publishing.
I've used a Macintosh computer since my undergraduate school Pratt Institute purchased its first Apple computer “Lisa” in 1983. Currently I am well versed in both Apple and Windows environments.
I've been shooting since I was a junior in HS, starting out in home made pin hole camera, to Nikon 35mm SLR and now DSLR. I would be happy to share my photography knowledge.
I teach on both Windows and Macintosh platforms using Adobe software After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, and Apple Final Cut Pro. I am well versed in non-liner time line based editing and also shooting digital and DSLR video. I have completed Certificate of Completion – 06/26/2009 - Film Industry Training Program Connecticut Film and Digital Media Workforce the Film Division of the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism June 2009 which I focus on all aspects production of a short film with a concentration in lighting and grip. I’ve shot, edited and produced my own video production for use on web and television.
