About Patrick

Bio

I have always had a deep love for mathematics and for learning. Ever since I can remember, I have viewed the world in numbers, and always tried to dissect every problem I can from a mathematical standpoint. I also love to learn new things and in turn explain those topics to anyone who will listen. I pick up knew hobbies every year. It took me a long time to realize I wasn't addicted to the hobbies, I was addicted to learning. I have dabbled in everything from bird raising, computer coding,...

I have always had a deep love for mathematics and for learning. Ever since I can remember, I have viewed the world in numbers, and always tried to dissect every problem I can from a mathematical standpoint. I also love to learn new things and in turn explain those topics to anyone who will listen. I pick up knew hobbies every year. It took me a long time to realize I wasn't addicted to the hobbies, I was addicted to learning. I have dabbled in everything from bird raising, computer coding, and single engine flying.

It surprised no one when I decided to dedicate my life to teaching. I have been a professional mathematics teacher since graduating college. I love to explain concepts to those willing to learn and listen. I do whatever I can to truly break down the information so you can have as thorough of an understanding as I do. I also make every attempt to keep things interesting. Math is exciting, but sometimes it can be easier to digest chalk than to read a math textbook. My general philosophy is: if I'm bored with the material, you will be too. So let's avoid that at all costs.

I have been a professional math instructor for 8 years. I have extensive (5+ years each) experience teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry, as well as lesser experience teaching Algebra 2 and Trigonometry. That isn't to say I do not know the material, I simply have not been assigned those classes at my school. As a student teacher, I scored within the top 10% of all prospective math teachers on my PRAXIS 2 exam.

Please feel free to contact me with an questions or concerns! My goal is to facilitate learning, NOT to scare you away with incomprehensible jargon. I find teaching fun, so give me something fun to do!
