I have always had a deep love for mathematics and for learning. Ever since I can remember, I have viewed the world in numbers, and always tried to dissect every problem I can from a mathematical standpoint. I also love to learn new things and in turn explain those topics to anyone who will listen. I pick up knew hobbies every year. It took me a long time to realize I wasn't addicted to the hobbies, I was addicted to learning. I have dabbled in everything from bird raising, computer coding, and single engine flying.

It surprised no one when I decided to dedicate my life to teaching. I have been a professional mathematics teacher since graduating college. I love to explain concepts to those willing to learn and listen. I do whatever I can to truly break down the information so you can have as thorough of an understanding as I do. I also make every attempt to keep things interesting. Math is exciting, but sometimes it can be easier to digest chalk than to read a math textbook. My general philosophy is: if I'm bored with the material, you will be too. So let's avoid that at all costs.

I have been a professional math instructor for 8 years. I have extensive (5+ years each) experience teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry, as well as lesser experience teaching Algebra 2 and Trigonometry. That isn't to say I do not know the material, I simply have not been assigned those classes at my school. As a student teacher, I scored within the top 10% of all prospective math teachers on my PRAXIS 2 exam.

Please feel free to contact me with an questions or concerns! My goal is to facilitate learning, NOT to scare you away with incomprehensible jargon. I find teaching fun, so give me something fun to do!

Perfect!

My son was severely struggling in 6th grade math. He was falling further and further behind. We found Patrick on Wyzant's platform and are happy we did. My son said he makes everything easier to understand, is patient and takes time to explain. We are very happy we found him.

Remy feels comfortable with Patrick at the first lesson. Available and honest.

Algebra 2: vertex, matrices, quadratics equations. Patrick can say honestly: "He needs time to look up something." Overall, he mastered in his field.

Provided a Breakthrough in Understanding Concept

Patrick was upfront with my son on how the tutoring session would progress. He discussed the current concepts in geometry that my son was studying and helped him to understand the reason why he was struggling with one particular concept. My son said that he liked that Patrick provided an alternative way of approaching the concept than his classroom teacher.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

He is so calm and reassuring plus he explains everything thoroughly and gives time to take notes and ask questions. He also provides a lot of notes on the whiteboard and that has helped me integrate that which he is teaching.
