I enjoy teaching and learning. As a graduate of Wesleyan University and Sacred Heart University, I have had experience working with learners of all ages--from elementary school through college. I taught fifth grade students as an AmeriCorps volunteer for three years. During my undergraduate studies, I was a teaching assistant for and tutored students in calculus. I taught high school students this year.
I specialize in mathematics. I have successfully tutored students in prealgebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalulus and statistics. Whether we are simplifying fractions or conducting hypothesis testing, my goal is to keep my students challenged. I will assign homework after each session.
I set high standards for myself and will frequently ask for your feedback. My students and their learning is my highest priority.
I will be flexible with my time and do my best to accommodate your schedule. Because I set such high standards for myself and prepare for each session, I have a 24-hour cancellation policy.
I'd prefer to work with students in my office, a library or coffee shop. I am happy to travel to a location that is convenient for you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
