Bio

Hi there! My name is Tina!
Teaching and learning are at the core of my identity. As a child and young adult, I would play school with my siblings and cousing. The topic didn't matter to me. As long as I was the teacher! To this day, my cousins and I reminisce on our weekend "school" play dates.

Hi there! My name is Tina!
Teaching and learning are at the core of my identity. As a child and young adult, I would play school with my siblings and cousing. The topic didn't matter to me. As long as I was the teacher! To this day, my cousins and I reminisce on our weekend "school" play dates.
I spent 6 years in undergraduate university studying chemistry and biology, earning two Bachelor's degrees. I earned my Master's degree in Chemistry education from SUNY University at Buffalo.
I have been a tutor since I was a sophmore in college (cerca 2000). I have over 15 years of teaching experience. I have taught chemistry lab at the university level. I tutored chemistry, biology, algebra, and AP chemistry. As a classroom teacher, I taught Chemistry, Biology, Science (5-8), Spanish (5-8), and social studies (7). I have also taught math intervention and summer school math for the past 8 years.
I focus on helping students with study skills and problem solving. As a certified teacher, I have experience in individualized and differentiated instruction in order to meet the needs of all learners.
Tutoring is my passion because it allows me to tailor my teaching to the needs of an individual or small group. My students always improve their learning when we work together!
