I am motivated by a desire to see people improve. To increase their knowledge base, and their ability to apply it to life. If I can offer a hand to someone in need, be it academically or otherwise, I am at my best. Spend a few minutes with me, and you will recognize my aura of passion when it comes to the enrichment of the mind, body and spirit.
I have both been a tutor, and ran multiple college level tutoring centers. I am very well versed in the tutoring process and what it takes to help someone get the most of their educational opportunity. My strong points are Psychology, Social Science, English, American History, American Government and Civics, law, and a number of other topics.
Outside of the workplace, my life is motivated by the same desires to improve, while helping others to do the same. I stay fit and active through a clean diet and lifestyle, coupled with a devotion to CrossFit. I am in my third year of working to make it on Jeopardy, and have promised myself I will make it a reality. If you are looking for passion, I can tell you I do not intend to let you down. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. I possess my masters degree in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education. I have taken numerous courses that detail the needs of the modern college student, and how they relate to what colleges and universities wish to see in a student. I have since been employed by both a community college, and a private four year college.
I worked for four years as a professional support counselor for adults with developmental disabilities, often times in very severe cases. Additionally, I have taken supporting course work in both my undergraduate and graduate school programs. I have since worked with students at a college level, to ensure that their special needs are met inside the classroom.
