“**Dedicated and knowledgable tutor**”

APPROACH

My goal is student understanding, building on a student's existing understanding level and familiar contexts, and looking for ways to help remembrance of procedures/concepts. I will look to determine and address the root or cause of a student's difficulties. I will seek to coordinate my instruction with what the student is learning

Excellent tutor, he teaches the why of things so I can actually understand the concepts. Very knowledgable and goes above and beyond, to include sending me messages about material we covered after our session is over.

My emphasis is on a student understanding content. Upon reflecting on a given tutoring session, I will have follow-up communications with students where I feel it might be helpful.

David asked for areas of concern prior to session so he would be prepared with information at the start of the lesson. He knows the subject content very well and can explain it in simplified terms to increase understanding.

One lesson thus far but will definitely book future lessons. Spends ample time reviewing concepts.

Taught my daughter college algebra. She learned a great deal. Found him to be patient and n knowledgeable. Tutored for an extra hour at no cost! Will be using him again.

I may tutor, at no charge, some extra time beyond the anticipated schedule, to bring the student closer to completing an understanding of a concept (or concepts), particularly at the first session (where there may be some "getting to know each other" time) or if a significant assessment is imminent. For sessions in Branford, CT, I tutor every third 1/2 hour free as a policy for a given session.

Very knowledgeable with Calculus. Simplifies the tough stuff for you to understand. Recommend to all out there struggling with Calculus.

I was really struggling with Calculus and David helped me get a 90 on my last test.

He's always prepared and ready for our lessons. He teaches you with ease and is very patient. I got a 58 on my first test, (before David) and thought about dropping the course. With help from David I feel confident I will pass this class.

I used Mr. M. as a tutor for Precalculus, and he was very knowledgeable about the textbook I was using and the material being presented. Before every session he texted me to ask what our session would cover, and he came prepared with examples and practice problems. He was flexible about timing and was willing to reschedule either the time or location to convenience me. He was very smart, friendly, and informative. My grade immediately and steadily improved and I would recommend Mr. M. completely.

I did not have prior direct exposure to the specific textbook this student was using. The perception that I was "very knowledgeable about the textbook" may have been due to potential commonalities that might be found among topics in Precalculus textbooks.

David is easy to reach, very responsive, and works well coordinating with a busy teen schedule. He is patient and engaging and has provided excellent assistance in AP calculus. Thanks David!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have experience teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus and Calculus, so I can tutor Algebra 1 with insight of how Algebra 1 concepts relate to these higher level math courses. My about 6 school years of teaching experience includes 2 years in a non-public classroom at one to one student to teacher ratios per class (up to 8 classes-students at a time).

I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus and Calculus in a non-public school classroom at a one-to-one student-to-teacher ratio per class (up to 8 classes-students at a time). I also have experience teaching in traditionally populated public school classrooms, during which I have taught Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, Precalculus, and SAT Math preparation.

I taught Calculus (AP content for both AB and BC), Precalculus, Algebra 2, and Algebra 1 at a non-public school at a one to one teacher to student ratio (up to 8 classes-students at a time). I have also taught Precalculus, Algebra 2, Algebra 1 and SAT Math preparation in traditionally populated public school classrooms. I am capable of filling in gaps in math skills that are prerequisites for Calculus.

Though I have not taught Elementary Math, I have taught and had been CT certified to teach mathematics in secondary schools. My education courses include "Teaching Mathematics to Accelerated Students and Low Achievers."

I held CT Certification as a secondary school mathematics teacher, achieved through a CT DOE approved planned program at the graduate school of Southern Connecticut State University.

I have had two linear algebra courses during my undergraduate college learning and another combined with abstract algebra for a graduate course. I have taught linear algebra in context of Precalculus and Algebra 2.

I have years of using EXCEL for business and personal use, self taught for the most part, I am skilled at finding what is built in to the EXCEL program to facilitate manipulations of various entries through use of functions and address your particular needs. There is a lot built into EXCEL that you may or may not need, so it makes more sense to learn how to find EXCEL solutions to data manipulation needs, whatever they may be in the present or future.

There is much to learn, depending on your needs and the sophistication you want. It makes no sense, beyond basics, to do other than the need you have at the time, I give you the tools you need to unlock the Power Point resources.

I am, for the most part, self taught in using WORD in business and for personal use. As such, I am skilled in showing you how to find solutions to your needs after they are determined. There is so much embedded in WORD that, beyond the basics , it makes more sense to learn WORD tools "as needed".

I am qualified to tutor the mathematics component of PRAXIS. I have completed a planned secondary school mathematics educator certification program for teaching mathematics in CT. I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus and Calculus. My experience teaching mathematics has been in both a traditionally populated public school context and in a one to one student to teacher ratio per class at a non-public school.

I have experience teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus and Calculus, so I can tutor Prealgebra with insight of how its concepts relate to these higher level math courses. The student teaching component, of my teaching certification program, involved teaching Prealgebra and geometry.

I taught Precalculus at a non-public school at a one-to-one student-to-teacher ratio basis, as well as in a traditionally populated public school classroom context. I also taught Calculus, so I have insight into how certain Precalculus concepts are utilized in Calculus. I have also taught Algebra 1 and 2.

I have taught probability in context of a Precalculus course. I have also taught probability in context of Algebra 1. I have taken a probability course during the pursuit of my engineering degree.

I have taught SAT Math Preparation as a separate course, as well as helping a student prepare for SAT Math Subject test.

I am particularly qualified to tutor for the quantitative (math) sections of the SSAT, given I have been a teacher of secondary school (upper/high school) mathematics (Algebras 1 and 2, Precalculus and Calculus) and have held CT certification for teaching secondary school mathematics.

Trigonometry is typically taught as a component of other subjects. I have taught trigonometry as a component of Precalculus in a non-public school on a one to one student to teacher context as well as in a typically populated public classroom.
