During the course of my career in finance and accounting, many of my staff and colleagues said that I would make a great teacher. Initially, I scoffed at their suggestion, but then an opportunity presented itself for me to become an adjunct professor at Manchester Community College. My first class was Financial Accounting and it was a great experience as 86% of my class passed, without any prior accounting experience.
I acknowledge that each person learns differently and I adjust my teaching to accommodate the student. I get a lot of joy from knowing that someone has passed a class, succeed to the next level of their career or simply has mastered a concept because of my ability to assist them.
I consider myself to be an outstanding career development tutor because all who have come under my tutelage have been exceptionally successful.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked in the field of accounting and finance in excess of 15 years. I started my career as an accounting clerk and worked my way to Chief Financial Officer. Areas in which my expertise would assist potential tutees include journal entry preparation, accounts payable and receivable transactions, and financial statement analysis.
