I am the founder of a successful college consulting and career service firm and have worked with students throughout the United States and China. I help students and their families navigate the very competitive, complicated and long college admissions process. From Ivy admissions to highly selective liberal arts colleges and large public universities, I know how to put together an exceptional application to make your child stand out from the thousands of other bright, ambitious students.
I enjoy working with Division I, II and III athletes, and have advised many prospects through the entire recruiting process. Former clients have joined college golf, squash, baseball, field hockey and football teams. I also work with students interested in transferring to another school…successful transfers include MIT, Johns Hopkins, Columbia and other top universities with amazing merit scholarships!
My goal is to simplify the college application process and remove the stress that accompanies the process. I begin by developing a target list of schools, prepare the Common Application, provide writing assistance for all essays, discuss whether the SAT or ACT and/or Subject Tests are necessary, practice interviewing and add all college information to your child's Naviance account. Lastly, I order all standardized test scores and send them to each school and make sure that all each application is sent well before the deadlines.
There are so many things to consider when choosing a college or university:
What is geographic diversity and how can this help my application?
What is "Determination of Interest?" Are colleges really tracking emails to your child? (YES!)
Athletic Scholarships? NCAA - Division I, II or III? Merit or Leadership Scholarships?
Private vs. Public Universities? Are public schools really more affordable?
SAT vs. ACT Are test optional colleges REALLY optional?
Every year I attend professional conferences for Independent College Admissions Counselors, Guidance Counselors and College Admissions Reps ... so I know what colleges are looking for and am happy to share this information with you.
Call me or send me an email so we can discuss how I can help your child and family today!

My daughter needed help with her college essay. Michelle took all the stress away from both of us, and guided her into creating a fantastic essay. I highly recommend her!
Michelle was a perfect fit for our son! My son has ADD and she was so personable and has great insight and knowledge about all the schools that we were interested in, and she also broadened our search for schools to make sure that our son would feel confident and comfortable. She really listened to all of his needs. Michelle is such a lovely person and made this process so easy for our family. Thank you Michelle for everything you did for us! you are awesome!
Michelle was very patient and full of ideas. She helped my son write a great essay and was able to help him focus on a list of possible schools.
Michelle R is a great tutor. She sat with my daughter and helped her with her college essay as well as discussing what her possible future would hold. She helped us zero in on what my daughter should go after in college. She is excellent and very knowledgeable.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I began my career in the executive search field and conducted senior level (CEO VP, Director)) searches in a variety of industries for over 15 years.
I now offer a Career Search Service to help new graduates successfully navigate the very competitive job market. There are hundreds of job boards on the Internet, and trying to determine which ones to apply to can become overwhelming and discouraging.
I work with each student to help identify appropriate jobs and careers based on their college major, internships, prior summer experience, location and financial goals.
Next, I prepare a custom resume and offer suggestions on how to penetrate one or two specific industries through networking activities, industry conferences, blogs, etc.
I know how difficult it is to have finally graduated from college and not have a job. Most clients are facing a huge mountain of debt and need to start earning money quickly.
