Jason - Thank you so much for your commitment to Jasmine's learning this spring! She really enjoyed you as both a teacher and friend and it clearly shows in the vast improvements she has made in the areas of reading and math. I truly believe that she would not have improved as much without you. We look forward to working with you again in August!!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Being both a certified Special Education teacher in a facility with a high number of students diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and a father of a son diagnosed with ADD and a Non-Verbal Learning disorder, I have years of experience with behavior modifications and instruction of ADD/ADHD students. 10 years of teaching students and 12 years raising a son and being closely involved with the school system has given me unique insights into working with children with this diagnosis.
In addition to getting my sons through their own Algebra I classes, I have taught Algebra I to high school students who have had a myriad of special education needs. I have also remediated students in need.
