I am credentialed with the Colorado Community College System for GIS and Remote Sensing. I teach Introduction to GIS and Remote Sensing at two CCCS campuses. I have ten years of active experience in the field in many roles, and I love to teach. I'm patient and wiling to explain a concept as many times as needed to ensure comprehension.
GIS and remote sensing concepts and the dominate software suites available can be overwhelming to navigate and understand. Utilizing concept explanation and software demonstrations, I encourage students not only to follow along with me, but to write out how they accomplished a task in their own words. Learning software is all about exposure and repetition, and having methods documents creates a learning space for years to come.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SCIENCES (GIS)
I have almost 10 years of active experience in the work force utilizing ArcGIS, as well as two years of teaching experience at the Community College level. I can help with both practical and conceptional portions of GIS, as well as have a platform to create customized online quizzes to help drill the concepts you struggle with.
I have been working with the Mac OS for almost 15 years and am extremely proficient in it. As a technology instructor for Windows based ArcGIS and a Mac user, I must switch back and forth between Mac and Windows constantly, which has led to a solid understanding and ability to correlate the two operating systems.
