I am originally from Seattle, Washington, but now live and teach in the suburbs outside of Denver, Colorado. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, and a minor in Education from Whitman College. After teaching at the middle school level for two years, I pursued my Masters degree in Spanish through Middlebury College, where I got to spend the year living, studying and working in Madrid, Spain. Since my return, I have taught all levels of Spanish to both native and non-native speakers of the language and have traveled extensively - often with students - to Mexico, Guatemala, Spain, Chile, Uruguay, and Cuba.

In the best possible way, I am a Spanish-teaching NERD - I love the language and love to find ways to help others love it, too! Spanish is a passion of mine, and one that I am always excited to share with others.

In addition to many years as a Spanish teacher, I am also certified as an ESL teacher, and love to help students "find their voice" in English as well as their native language.

Whether studying for the AP exam, trying to get conversational before a big trip, or just need help finding the strategies that will unlock the language for you, please let me help! I promise to make the process fun and functional, and will get you where you need to be en muy poco tiempo. ¡Vámonos!

While my focus of late has been at the middle school and high school levels, my certification is K - 12, and I enjoy helping learners of all ages. Both in and out of the classroom, I bring creativity and patience for all students and can get results quickly. Take advantage of my experience, and let me help you or your child get where you need to be!

With two decades of teaching experience, I am equally comfortable teaching groups of 30 in a classroom as I am working with individuals or small groups in homes, libraries, or coffee shops! I can support homeschoolers with general work as well as Spanish lessons. Let me know how I can help!

As a high school teacher for almost two decades, a large part of my time has been spent preparing students to move beyond their K-12 experience. Between curating test-prep resources, editing essays, figuring out FAFSA, and talking through the kinds of choices that underlie some of the biggest decisions, helping students prepare their college applications each year ends up being one of the most rewarding things I do.
