I'm a certified teacher with undergraduate degrees in Bilingual Education and Linguistics, as well as a Master's degree in English as a Second Language. (Soy maestro bilingüe. Enseño inglés, lectura, matemáticas, y tecnología para todas las edades.)

I have over ten years of experience tutoring and teaching. My day job is working as an instructional coach supporting elementary teachers, but I have experience tutoring all levels, from kindergartners to adults. I'm also a techie!

I am available to tutor in nearly any subject K-12, but where I especially shine is in my work with elementary-age kids. Struggling readers, kids who think math is evil, and kids who just need a slight boost or extra challenge will all find that some experienced extra attention was all they ever needed to reach their full potential.

In the area of Spanish, I am endorsed to teach Spanish by the Colorado Department of Education. I am fully fluent and grew up learning it from my step-father and his side of the family. Because I started learning it as a child, I don't have the typical American or "gringo" accent that students might accidentally emulate when learning Spanish from other tutors. I have studied and volunteered extensively in both Mexico and Spain, and my Spanish studies included courses in both advanced grammar and phonology. Whether you want to simply learn the basics for your next visit to Latin America, rid yourself of your accent while perfecting your verb conjugation, or have your son or daughter increase his or her skills in Spanish, I'm your tutor.

English as a Second Language (ESL) is a speciality of mine as well. I have taught ESL to all levels, from Pre-Kindergarten to adult, and have over five years of classroom teaching experience specifically in the area of ESL. I have worked with students from every continent except Antarctica, and whether you want to improve basic skills or even advanced grammar for a test or formal writing, I can help.

Finally, I'm a computer geek and thankfully I can translate from Geek to English too! Before I caught the teaching bug in college, I was awarded a scholarship from my university's Computer Sciences department, competed and placed highly in various computer science competitions, and received a perfect score on the highest level computer science Advanced Placement test available. More recently, I earned an endorsement in Instructional Technology from the Colorado Department of Education and have taught classes ranging from robotics and video game creation to classes that cover general computing skills. Whether you want to learn about Windows, Mac, Office, basic video editing or even get started programming, I can help.

I have been a self-taught hobbyist programmer for over 15 years. I received a perfect 5/5 on the Computer Science AB Advanced Placement test in C++. I placed highly in various computer science competitions that utilized C++ in high school. I also co-taught my high school's most advanced computer science course which involved material that went beyond any of the Advanced Placement tests. C++ and C are highly related languages and I have coded extensively in both.

Awesome!

William is everything my son (a 6th grader) needed! I asked my son what he thought about his tutor, and my son replied "he's great". That to me means the world! My son likes his tutor 100X better than his math teacher at school! Will was very patient, made math a fun, learning experience for my son, I would definitely pick William as your child's tutor. Not every one can connect with kids like Will can. And he's very smart! My son refers to him as a "Math Genius".

Great Tutor

My son is looking forward to more lessons with Will. He likes the way he explains math problems, he said it made a lot more sense to him. We look forward to more tutor sessions with Will. Thank you!

Very encouraging tutor

Will did a great job of encouraging my son to finish his math homework and think about story problems in a new way. Will is very patient and has a pleasant way about him.
