I have always liked math, and I enjoy explaining concepts to students who struggle with it. I begin at the student's level of mastery and build on that foundation; raising his or her level of confidence and self-esteem in the process. We will use manipulatives, games, and sometimes, music. I will help your student understand HOW to find an answer by using the clues that are given and showing what to do with them. All of my past students have improved their math grades and test scores. I helped prevent one student from repeating 3rd grade. He received a Math award for "Most Improved" for all 3rd graders at his school.

I can help you improve your writing skills and prepare for the SAT. I have been tutoring English grammar, vocabulary, (including English language learners) and writing conventions for 8+ years. I help high school students understand and respond to writing prompts. I successfully completed three college-level writing and composition courses with a 3.5 or higher. In other courses, I earned scores of 90 or above for papers 5-15 pages long.

Judy has been working with my son for 15 months. My son has off-the-charts ADHD! I'll be honest, I was a little nervous about having her tutor him; my initial thought was to find a 20-something year old male to work with my son. Boy, am I glad I didn't and we found Judy instead. Judy understood my son's needs and style immediately. She has been nothing but patient with him, she's laughed with him, she's listened to his stories, she's let him walk and talk and work and play and just be himself: exactly what he needed. What A Gift!!!

Judy is a great tutor who is very caring, patient, and encouraging!!! My daughter really liked her!!! I was an overwhelmed homeschooling mom therefore, we looked into my daughter taking some of her classes at a home-school co-op. We chose Judy instead because the cost was the same and my daughter got one on one instruction without me having to drive anywhere! Judy has an effective pairing of knowledge and learning styles. I highly recommend Judy. Within five months of tutoring my daughter went up a whole grade! Judy is very patient and nice tutor. My son, who easily gets tired of anything, waits for Judy every Friday. He enjoys the tutoring with Judy very much. Outstanding tutor.

Judy was great!!! She helped our son who was in 6th grade and was at a 4th grade math level. She gave him the confidence he needed to start realizing that he can do the work.
