I was an English as a Second Language teacher previously. I have taught students k-6 in all subject areas. I spent time during summers tutoring students as well. I currently provide childcare for two children, in addition to childcare I provide education and home-schooling for a first grader and a preschooler. I graduated with a B.A. in psychology in 2009. Following this, I returned to school a year later for education. I am a licensed teacher, I am licensed by the state of Colorado to teach elementary education k-6 and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education k-12 (ESL).
I enjoy spending time with my dogs, reading, and being outside.
I love seeing children learn and grow. Helping students reach their goals is a passion and is the reason I became a teacher. I have taught as an interventionist, working one-on-one and in small groups in all subject areas.
I am trained and endorsed to teach English as a Second Language by the state of Colorado. I hold this endorsement in addition to my teaching certification.
I have taught in schools that use common core. I am extremely familiar with state standards.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a licensed teacher endorsed to teach elementary education k-6. I have tutored multiple students including: kindergartners, first graders, preschoolers, second graders, and fifth graders. I was a teacher and was an interventionist. I have used standard-based instruction and assessment in my career. I am familiar with many different curriculum and programs in all subject areas. I am comfortable and familiar with the state standards.
As a former teacher I worked on handwriting with many students. I currently teach handwriting to two students, a preschooler and a kindergartner. My students show/ showed great improvement in their pencil grip, legibility, formation, and writing habits.
I enjoy teaching phonics. As a teacher I taught phonics to students whose first/ primary language was not English, as well as native English speakers. I have used assessments to monitor their progress. I am a licensed teacher.
