I have a Master's from Colorado State University. Besides my academic training and my professional work as an engineer, I have honed my math teaching skills working with a professional math tutoring service for the last two years. I have learned special techniques allowing the application of organized and structured interactions between several instructors/tutors and several students during one session; each student receiving a personalized teaching.
Tutoring as a way of teaching is a passion that I have kept since my time as an engineering student and a TA, through my most important life experience as a parent; for years, I went through the difficult task of tutoring my own children and developing patience and understanding as a means of getting through the task.
I am an Engineer (Industrial & Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering) and mathematics subjects are a passion that I cherish; tutoring is a way to honor and preserve that passion; one of my own teachers once said the best way to keep once knowledge is to teach it to others. I try to do just that. I approach every tutoring session as a unique experience and a complete experiment where student and tutor converge through either direct teaching or Socratic questioning.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I regularly work with students providing help in Algebra 1 and helping them with their homework.
I am a native french speaker with an engineering (Power Electrical) degree from Belgium. Before graduating from the US in another engineering field (Industrial and Systems), all my studies were in french. Beside my TA experience, I have been a Math tutor with Mathnasium for 3 years.
Regularly work on precalculus with students, providing direct teaching, Socratic questioning for students' learning of the subject, and homework help.
