University of Colorado, Boulder (English, Linguistics)
Dear Prospective Students and Parents,
Passion for language and a creative approach to both learning and teaching English are hallmarks of my education and work experience. I graduated from the University of Colorado with a double major in Linguistics and English Literature. This dual study course, combined with more than nine years' experience teaching, has provided a strong background, and aided in the development of my comprehensive, diverse, and adaptive instructional style.
I have taught English as a foreign language overseas, and as a result have worked with students from several different cultures, including Korean, Chinese, Hispanic and Oriental minority groups. I am a creative instructor with experience in lesson and test preparation, as well as tutoring in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Previous employers have commented on the passion I have for my work and the positive results which they have seen in students under my tutelage.
Please do not hesitate to contact me here on WyzAnt if you have questions or are interested in my services.

Over the holidays, my son was able to read complete sentences by himself. This was the first time he had ever done so. I know it's because of Rebecca's tutoring!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have tutored English and ESL both in the United States and overseas, and have been tutoring for more than six years. I have both an associates and bachelors degree in English and Linguistics. Furthermore, I am TESOL certified and am passionate about helping second language learners develop their English language skills.
