Hi! Let us work together to bring the joy of learning into you and/or your child’s life. I enjoy helping and nurturing success in all areas of life. I am a licensed occupational therapist in the state of Colorado and I aim to create wellness in mind, body, and spirit. I have experience teaching children and young adults with disabilities in independent life skills, as well as mentoring those diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, depression and anxiety. I can assist with developing skills that increase attention, self-regulation, self-advocacy, fine motor skills (handwriting), gross motor skills, organizational skills, problem solving, self-esteem, cognitive flexibility, planning and initiating tasks, self-monitoring, and more. I also assess the environment and determine if adaptations and/or accommodations can be made. I work both in the home and out in the community in order to build life skills that will allow for future success and independence. I infuse my sessions with meditation, mindfulness, relaxation, and yoga inspired movement.
I also have experience proofreading college and graduate level papers for grammatical and correct APA formatting. I have experience teaching beginners computer skills to aging and elderly adults.
My strengths include being passionate, reliable, adaptable, and creative. I have deep awareness of the impact of the environment and how it influences our experience. I am a direct and compassionate communicator. I have experience working with individuals of diverse abilities, cultures, and backgrounds and I bring an empathetic intuitive calm demeanor to my work.
Thank you for considering working with me!
I excelled in my anatomy and physiology courses that I took in while in college. I also have taken courses in biomechanics while in graduate school. I use my knowledge of the body in my practice as an occupational therapist while testing range of motion, evaluating body positioning, and modifying the environment to create the most independence.
Throughout my higher education experience, I have written many papers that required APA formatting, effective organization of ideas, arguments, evidence, and references. I can help others create outlines, efficiently communicate their ideas through written word, and support those ideas with the best research and evidence. I offer assistance with essays, papers, thesis work, resumes, cover letters, and presentations, such as powerpoint.
I have experience teaching preschoolers diagnosed with Autism as well as other children ages 5-12 learn how to write in print and cursive. I use a portion of the curriculum Handwriting Without Tears, as well as my experience adapting the environment in order to assist in learning how to write. I also utilize my knowledge of how to develop fine motor skills as it relates to handwriting.
I currently have an active license as an occupational therapist and I have experience working in home settings, hospital, out-patient, and in school settings with a wide variety of children with disabilities. At my previous job, I was the lead therapist in a preschool for children with Autism. I have a breath of knowledge that I can offer to families and children.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
