Astronomy is one of the Sciences that can umbrella everything from physics to chemistry, geology, and biology. Science is math intensive, so I will be able to help with anything from Elementary math to College level Calculus. I can also help with weather, aerodynamics, and some engineering concepts.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to arrange a lesson.

Elementary Education

Study Skills,

Study Skills

To obtain a degree in Astronomy (Astrophysics) and become a Helicopter Pilot, one must develop a strong method to study. If information is required to called upon from memory, whether it is while flying or for a test, good organization is necessary to memorize it. I have developed some personal organization and study skills that I can walk you through and share with you to help you succeed.
Elementary Math, Elementary Science

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

After addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, Algebra is the foundation to be able to make correlations between sets of numbers and determine patterns. Next to sharing a love of Science with someone, I find helping someone understand Algebra to be very rewarding.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

After addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, Algebra is the foundation to be able to make correlations between sets of numbers and determine patterns. Next to sharing a love of Science with someone, I find helping someone understand Algebra to be very rewarding.
Calculus,

Calculus

Calculus was developed by Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibnitz in order to solve problems that could not be solved algebraically. Calculus is used in most fields of science and engineering. I have taken courses from CU in Calculus I, II, III, and Differential Equations, as well as, Physics/Astrophysics courses with foundations in Calculus.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

Chemistry, understanding the chemical processes and structure of atoms and molecules, is one of the major components of Astronomy. Using the information contained in the light coming from stars and galaxies, we can determine what they are made of and what chemical reactions are taking place within them. Let me know if you are having trouble with chemistry.
Geometry,

Geometry

Geometry is the mathematical component to spatial orientation and relationships. This subject usually describes objects, in Two or Three Dimensions, based on shape, size, surface area, volume, position, and orientation. As it relates to Astronomy, Geometry helps us define the size of stars and black holes and understand the orbits of planets, and even the amount of sunlight that a patch of Earth can absorb. Other fields depend heavily on Geometry as well.
Physics,

Physics

Physics is one of the cornerstones of my Astronomy Degree. I have taken courses from Physics I to Modern Physics, and Advanced Astrophysics. If this is a subject that you are struggling with, I believe I can give you a hand.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

Precalculus Class is an important stepping off point in making sure that a student has the knowledge to succeed in Calculus.
SAT Math,

SAT Math

As a graduate of Astronomy from CU-Boulder, I have the background in Math and Science to help you prepare for the ACT and SAT in those sections. Tutoring lessons for these tests would be focused on understanding concepts, problem-solving and test-taking techniques. Please have worked through practice problems, so that we may narrow in on what will help you score the highest on these tests.

Trigonometry, derived from the word triangle, deals with the relationships between distances and angles of a triangle. These relationships, when applied to higher levels of math and to the sciences, help us understand wave patterns, orbital motion, and more. I have taken many classes that rely on knowledge of trigonometry, so if you are having trouble with this, I can help.

Great teacher!

I didn’t spend a lot of time with Dan, we only had one session but he was nice and knowledgeable.

Michelle, 1 lesson with Dan

Great Tutor

He is a great tutor and very knowledgable. My daughter and son were struggling in math and he helped them tremendously. They even brought their grades up a letter grade!

Jamie, 3 lessons with Dan

Great match!

Dan is working with my daughter in Algebra 2 Advanced Honors. He is easygoing and patient and allows her to talk the process out and ask as many questions as she needs to. He is also very flexible in regards to travel and meeting times.

Jubal, 2 lessons with Dan

Great tutor

Precalculus review. He helped a lot with setting my daughter's mind in the right direction with PreCalculus and been very positive during the whole session. I appreciate him driving to our location and also setting up online teaching tool. Therefore, I think live is best...

Nina, 1 lesson with Dan

Great start!

The first session with Dan was very encouraging for our son. With continued sessions to come, this will have a very positive result and outcome.
