I am an artist, entrepreneur, teacher, and I continually look for the positives in people and in life. I live with the animals and one child in a tiny house I designed and built. I love reading and being creative and am a problem-solver for big and small challenges. I was Special Education teacher and an academic and behavioral coach for ages 4-21. I am trauma-informed and take a nurturing, holistic approach to tutoring, seeing the family as a unit and essential to a student's success. I love to learn and to impart that love of learning to my students.

I taught and tutored high school students in all core subjects, specializing in math, reading and writing. I have experience tutoring Social Studies, Literature, Science, English, and Creative Writing. I tutored and provided behavioral coaching for students age 4-16 in a variety of school settings and am familiar with 504s, IEPs, and BIPs, and am happy to work with all team members to support a student.

I really enjoy Math and use a variety of teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student. My goal is to create understanding and firm foundational concepts so growth is possible and stress is reduced. I have tutored Math to ages 5-21 and grade levels from K-12.

Reading is my passion besides art. I hope to impart a love of reading at any age. I work with readers from learning letters to decoding Shakespeare. I am comfortable meeting the student where they are and engaging the student by discovering their interests, imparting enthusiasm and creating skills that will serve them for life. I believe any reading is valuable and will read to and with my students each session.

I believe an education is an asset that can never be taken away. I am happy to be a small part of your student's success and growth on their educational journey. Family often has invaluable insight into student needs and I look forward to working with the whole child and family. I have a flexible schedule and return messages quickly. Please contact me to chat or schedule a session. I lo

I enjoy teaching, whether building basic skills or supplementing gifted curriculum. Patient and Knowledgeable!

Vivian was very patient, and utilized visual aides to go over substitutions, elimination, graphing, and slope intercept with my son. All Algebra 1 concepts. My son needed help to prepare for his final. She was very helpful!

Vivian is fantastic!

Vivian is fantastic! She is patient and kind. She helped both of my teenagers with math, science and general organization skills. She is easy to communicate with and was always prompt. Both of my kids really appreciate her knowledge and skills. As a parent, I appreciate how she encourages the kids and provides positive reinforcement. My son especially needed her patience and coaxing to get him motivated to complete his school work. My daughter improved leaps and bounds in math due to Vivian's teaching style and study skills. We hope to keep working with Vivian in the future and recommend her tutoring to anyone searching for academic assistance!

Knowledgeable and special tutor

Vivian is an amazing tutor! She really knows how to work with kids to not only improve their math skills, but also to boost their confidence. She is very organized and her lessons are planned and purposeful. She provides useful feedback and gives good suggestions for how to best put into practice what is being learned in class. Although we're very thankful for all that is being taught and learned (she has some amazing resources and strategies), I believe her enthusiasm and a willingness and desire to connect with her students is what will make the difference in the end. That connection is what leads directly to success.

Knowledgeable and Patient Tutor

Our 6yo is very sweet but he can be incorrigible and opinionated. Vivian helped him to focus his mental powers on learning and put us on to some tools to help him in between lessons that he absolutely loves! She is definitely helping him to nurture his love of learning. Thanks Vivian!
