When I started college in 2004, I worked tutoring students in math and knew that I had found my future career. Even though I excelled at other subjects, math always made the most sense to me.

I graduated with a PhD from Texas State University in Mathematics Education. While completing my bachelors in mathematics education, I tutored many fellow college students and high school students from pre-algebra through the entire Calculus sequence.

Tutoring math is something I have always enjoyed. By showing multiple ways on how to do the same problem, I can always find a solution that makes sense to the student. By doing this the student has an alternative method to try to check their answer and compare. Specializing in College Algebra, AP Calculus, GRE, and ACT Math, the most satisfying part of my job is when a student gets the score they need to maintain their GPA or receive a scholarship. I have taken students from struggling and failing to getting an A in the class. It is just not through my ability at teaching math, but how I teach logic with multiple choice tests, time management, and even strategy on approaching the professor about extra credit and retaking tests.

I see how rewarding it is to work with students individually and have been a full time tutor ever since I graduated. Not only can I achieve results quickly, by teaching and making sure the student shows understanding and not just rote learning, they will be able to retain their mathematical knowledge longer than someone just trying to get them to pass the class.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing poker, weight lifting, and watching football and basketball.
