I am a forensic psychologist by training and education. Forensic psychology is a blend of law, psychology, sociology, and criminal justice. My strengths are my written and verbal communication skills. The majority of my past employers, required a stringent background check. I have worked as a psychologist for the California Department of Corrections, have worked on Multiagency law enforcement grants, and have done with with Police and Probation. I have qualitative research experience, and have coauthored several research articles on various topics in forensic psychology. I have taught college level courses in psychology and criminology and have guest lectured numerous times for the Department of Criminology at Fresno State University. I have also been the primary author of a book.
While I was a student in junior high and high school, I utilized tutors personally for math, so I understand the importance of a tutor, and finding the right one. They not only helped me make the grade, but they helped me with my self confidence, which enabled me to pursue my dream of becoming a forensic psychologist. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I learned to cook and bake in 4H at the age of 8. All 4H curriculum is created by CSU Cooperative Extension. While in 4H from the age of 8-19,I learned different aspects of cooking, and mastered the skill knowledge and goals for each unit of cooking and baking. I often competed in cooking and baking at the county and state levels. I won Reserve Grand Champion at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo for the Creative Cooks Contest. I have also won Champion and Grand Champion for pie baking, and Bread Baking. As an adult, I participate in Open competition at the Boulder County fair and have won Champion and Grand Champion for my pies.
I have a Ph.D. in forensic psychology. I have had several research publications in Journals, Text books as well as being the primary author of a book. Reading and comprehension has always been a strength, and I feel that providing help in this area would be a good fit for me.
