Most recently, I've tutored privately in NYC and Boulder. Though I enabled and encouraged students age 10-60 in subjects ranging from technology to history, my work focused on middle and high school math, science, writing, executive functioning, and standardized test prep.

I've worked with kindergarten through university students all over the world. I've been a teacher's aide; tutored English as a second language, math, English, and executive functioning; and co-taught/guest lectured university level classes. I also tutored fellow students when I was at college (American politics/history, learning and conditioning, educational psychology). I graduated from Phoenix Country Day School in 2003 (cum laude, AP track) and from Yale in 2007 (BA Psychology). I have a very solid understanding of academics.

I thoroughly enjoy figuring out how to explain a subject to a student in a way that makes sense to them. It's fun to see the subject come alive for the student.

I took math through BC Calculus and scored 800 on my SATII Math2C exam.

I was the student who actually read all of the literature assigned in high school. I just enjoy the Classics. There's so much depth, wisdom, and artistry in them.

My 9th grade English teacher was a grammar wizard. I also completed the quintessential writing class at Yale. I value writing skills, and I've continued to use what I learned as a professional. I've written marketing materials and published an academic article.

I look forward to helping you get that much better at your favorite subject or tackle your challenging one. We'll have fun while you learn too!
