Hi, I am a Certified Speech Language Pathologist who enjoys working with students. I have worked in schools for 10 years and am branching out to provided the extra one on one assistance most students who struggle in schools need. I specialize with Pre-K through 6th grade and work with students who need support with their language skills (sentence structure, grammar and vocabulary), phonemic awareness and phonics (skills needed for reading), including spelling and writing and, of course since I am a Certified Speech Language Pathologist I also work with students on their speech sounds. I believe in a fun learning approach to keep the student's attention, while providing them the support they require. Parents are welcome to sit in on and join in our sessions if they so choose.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a Certified Speech Language Pathologist. As such I have had education and training in language/communication disorders (including oral and written). Being a Certified Speech Language Pathologist, I have had the training and experience on sounds and how they are applied to reading and speech. When I work with my students, I teach them the sounds the letters make and how they are applied within different words according to the position and other letters within the word itself.
As a school-based Certified Speech Language Pathologist, I have had the pleasure of working with students who struggle with reading. This is because reading is closely linked to language which starts at the phoneme level through the syllable level on up to words and sentences finally reaching the ability to understand what is being read. It is important to start at the student's current level and add the building blocks necessary to get to the comprehension level.
I am a Certified Speech Language Pathologist who has worked with Special needs children for 10 years. Each student is different in what they need to learn or how they learn best. Some need visual cues, some need lots of repetition and real world practice, some need hand over hand.
I am a Certified Speech Language Pathologist. I have worked with students requiring improvement in the their production of speech for 10 years. The work I have performed is articulation of sounds, grammar, syntax (sentence structure), vocabulary (use and knowledge), pragmatics (social skills).
During my years as a school-based Speech Language Pathologist, the largest part of my caseloads has typically been working with students who struggle with their vocabulary. These are also the students who have the most fun in my groups because they discover that words can be associated with other words in a variety of ways. They learn that when reading, the definition of a word can be different depending on the context. They find that they can quickly learn new words.
