Hey everyone, I'm Travis! I graduated undergrad from Boise State University in 2015 where I majored in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science. Most recently I graduated with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy in March of 2019 from Franklin Pierce University. When it came to school, I had the best classroom experience when teachers were engaging, fun and fostered critical thinking. I always do my best to bring these 3 traits to my tutoring approach to keep students focused and ensure they have the best learning experience possible. I like to start sessions by answering any questions about previous material to create a solid base of knowledge. Then, move on to new material by providing creative explanations and examples to improve comprehension. Finally, I end with practice to demonstrate understanding. However, everyone learns differently and student feedback on their specific learning style will be taken into consideration when developing a layout for sessions.

While I have little official tutoring experience, I have helped and tutored countless classmates in both undergrad and graduate school with various subjects. Also, I have taught family and friends writing techniques for essays and resumes, as well as, assisted them with revisions. As a soon to be physical therapist I have extensive practice and knowledge in anatomy and physiology and have used these skills in person with patients, as well as on cadavers. Finally, I have a significant amount of experience with writing and proofreading essays throughout my years in college.

I am currently studying for my physical therapy licensing exam and have a very open and flexible schedule. I generally respond very quickly and am eager to help as much as possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out and I hope to hear from you soon!

As a soon to be physical therapist I have done extensive studying of human anatomy and physiology. I have worked with several cadavers and countless anatomy models to learn the in's and out's of body structure and function. Also, I have taken 4 anatomy courses with one being at the doctoral level.

Growing up I spent a lot of time with my grandpa, who was a technical writer for airplane manuals. His style of speaking and writing has always stuck with me, which I believe has lead me to be an excellent writer and proofreader. Also, with 8 years of college experience I have written countless professional essays for school, many at the doctoral level, as well as a research article currently in the process of being published. Finally, going through the process of applying to 2 different colleges I have been able to blend professional writing with a creative style to help set myself apart in piles of applicants.

In college I took classes up to Calculus I and have always loved math! I especially like algebra because I see many of the equations as puzzles and solving them as a fun challenge. Honestly I haven’t taken algebra since high school but still scored very high on my tutor proficiency exam, so it is safe to say I remember most of it! I have also started reviewing content online to buff up on the concepts!

Track & Field

I ran division I for 1 year at Boise State University and left the team after deciding that collegiate running wasn't for me because of the level of commitment needed away from school. When I started running in high school I was last on the team and very out-of-shape. I trained for 3 years straight and ended up winning a team title for cross country and finishing 7th at state for the 3200. PR times- 400m- 53.01, 800m- 1:59, 1600m- 4:19.98, 3200m- 9:18.09. Also, I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and have the knowledge and skill to rehab and prevent injuries.
